About RentGPU.
RentGPU answers one question for people who run AI workloads: where can I get the compute I need, right now, for the least money? — whether that's renting a GPU by the hour or paying a hosted API per token.
Why it exists
GPU rental prices are scattered across dozens of clouds and marketplaces, each with its own naming ("H100 SXM5 80GB", "H100-80G-HBM3", "1× H100"), billing unit and fine print. Hourly rates for the same card routinely differ by 3–5× between providers, and marketplace prices move every few minutes. Meanwhile, choosing between self-hosting an open-weights model and paying an inference API is a calculation almost nobody does with real numbers.
RentGPU collects those prices continuously, maps every listing to one canonical GPU, and pairs them with the practical questions: will this model fit in this card's memory, what does a month of traffic cost on each API, and at what volume does renting your own GPU win.

Who runs it
Vi Nguyen — Founder & editor. Vi founded MiningBoard.com, a profitability and hardware tracker for cryptocurrency miners, and built RentGPU on the same price-collection infrastructure. Vi edits and reviews every article published here.
RentGPU and MiningBoard share infrastructure but serve different audiences: MiningBoard is for miners, RentGPU is for AI and ML practitioners.
What we don't do
- Operate a marketplace or resell compute — you rent directly from the provider.
- Charge visitors, or sell rankings. The site is paid for by clearly labelled ads and affiliate referrals; see the editorial policy.
- Invent prices. Every number traces back to a listing or a published price page; see the methodology.
