RentGPU (rentgpu.org) is a free price-comparison site for cloud GPUs and hosted AI models. This page explains what we collect when you use it, what third parties collect, and how to opt out.
What we collect
- Server logs. Like every website, our servers record each request: the page, time, IP address, and browser user-agent. We use them to keep the site running and to block abuse.
- Outbound-link clicks. When you click a "Launch" or "Sign up" link to a GPU or AI provider, we record which link, the page it was on, your country, your browser user-agent, and a one-way hash of your IP address. We never store the raw IP for these clicks. We use this to understand which comparisons are useful and to reconcile affiliate referrals.
- Feedback and contact messages. If you use the "Was this page helpful?" buttons or the contact form, we store your message, the page you were on, and the email address if you chose to give one.
- Preferences. Your light/dark theme choice is kept in your browser's local storage and your display currency in a first-party cookie. Neither identifies you.
We have no user accounts, and we don't sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Advertising (Google AdSense and Cointraffic)
RentGPU is paid for by advertising and affiliate referrals. Ads are served by third parties:
- Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
- How Google uses information from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Cointraffic serves a single display ad on some pages and may set its own cookies; see Cointraffic's privacy policy.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, through Google's consent message.
Analytics
- Google Analytics 4 measures aggregate traffic — which pages are read, how visitors arrive, device type. See Google's privacy policy; you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity records anonymized interaction data (clicks, scrolling) so we can find confusing layouts. See the Microsoft privacy statement.
Links to providers
RentGPU links out to GPU rental and AI inference providers. Some of those links are affiliate links (see our editorial policy). Once you leave rentgpu.org, the provider's own privacy policy applies — they may set cookies to attribute your sign-up.
How long we keep data
- Outbound-click records (with hashed IP) are kept while they are useful for reporting and reconciling referrals.
- Feedback and contact messages are kept while the conversation is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted on request.
Your choices and rights
- Block or delete cookies in your browser; the site works without them.
- Opt out of personalized ads and analytics with the links above.
- Ask us to access or delete a message you sent us: email [email protected]. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA) you may have further rights to access, correct or erase personal data; we'll honour them.
Children
RentGPU is written for developers and businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
